Job summary

Avera McKennan is seeking a Food Service Assistant to assist with patient meal ordering and delivery on the Avera on Louise Health Campus. The role requires delivering meals, coordinating with departments, and ensuring meal service supports patient care goals.

The position emphasizes adherence to CARE standards, safety, and sanitation, with rotating shifts and weekend coverage as part of a regular schedule.

Qualifications

• High School or GED Equivalent; one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Records meal and fluid orders in the food service software system.
• Communicates with staff and departments about diet orders, patient concerns, and requests.
• Demonstrates knowledge of food production, nutrition, and therapeutic diets.
• Delivers meals to patient rooms in a timely and appropriate manner.
