Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD is hiring for a PRN Food Service Assistant role. You will perform light food preparation, stock rotation, and tray assembly for patient meals.

Responsibilities

• Complete tray line positions efficiently and on time.
• Deliver patient meal trays to Ambassador staff promptly.
• Clean and store dishware, silverware, and cooking equipment as per standards.
• Perform assigned cleaning tasks according to department standards.
• Record food and equipment temperatures and take appropriate action.
• Store or dispose of unused food items per rules.
• Prepare simple food items and assemble nutrition items for patient areas.
• Document to track food cost and deliver items as requested.

The pay range for this position is listed below. Actual pay rate dependent upon experience.

$17.50 - $21.50

A Brief Overview

Responsible for light food preparation, putting away storeroom stock, pushing carts to food pantry's, units, or catering functions, washing dishes, traying food for patients and assigned cleaning of the kitchen.

What You Will Do

• Completes assigned tray line positions in an efficient and timely manner.
• Delivers patient meal trays to Ambassador staff in an efficient and timely manner.
• Cleans and stores dishware, silverware, and cooking equipment according to department standards
• Completes assigned cleaning according to department standards
• Records food and equipment temperatures and takes appropriate action.
• Stores and/or disposes of food items not used on the tray line according to department standards.
• Completes simple food preparation, and assembles nutrition items for the patient areas.
• Completes documentation to track food cost and delivers items as requested according to department standards.
