Job summary

Labcorp in Tehachapi, CA is seeking a Patient Intake Representative to greet patients, schedule appointments and assist with registration. You will handle data entry, verify insurance and post payments, and communicate with physician offices to confirm orders.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and preferred 1+ year of patient-facing healthcare experience. Strong data entry, organization and teamwork are essential for success in a busy clinic environment.

Labcorp is seeking a Patient Intake Rep to join our team in Tehachapi, CA.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 am to 12:00 pm overtime and rotating Saturdays may be required.

Job Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and greet patients upon appointment arrival
• Ensure a welcoming environment for all patients and visitors
• Assist patients with registration and check in procedures
• Data entry of patient demographics and billing information
• Verification of insurance coverage and collect/post payments to patient accounts
• Call physician offices to confirm the accuracy of test orders
• Monitor and log patient wait times on a regular basis
• Notify the supervisor of any patient issues in a timely manner
• Promote and provide information about LabCorp patient services
• Manage office supplies to ensure proper inventory levels
• Open and close the office when necessary
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of patient facing healthcare experience

• Proficient in MS Office
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized colorblindness test

Pay Range

• Pay Range: $21.00 - $29.27 per hour

Benefits

• Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
• PIR’s may be eligible for participation in the Phlebotomy Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
