Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Two years’ experience in insurance verification and medical pre-certification.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel; able to learn department programs.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Verify benefits and obtain pre-certification/pre-authorization for scheduled exams.
• Pre-register patients accurately for imaging appointments.
• Communicate insurance coverage, authorizations, and financial responsibilities to patients.
• Collect patient co-pays and outstanding balances when applicable.
• Coordinate with physician offices to obtain required documentation (pre-authorizations, forms).
• Maintain and file patient records, search EPIC for documents, and produce routine reports.
