Job summary

Labcorp in Columbia City, IN is hiring a Patient Intake Representative. This role supports front-desk operations, greets patients, and assists with registration and scheduling. You will handle data entry, verify insurance, and help collect payments as part of daily patient workflow.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma and at least 1 year of customer service experience, with healthcare exposure valued. Overtime may be required and familiarity with MS Office is preferred.

• 1 year or more of customer service experience.
• 1 year or more of patient facing healthcare experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and greet patients on arrival.
• Assist patients with registration and check in procedures.
• Data entry of patient demographics and billing information.
• Verification of insurance coverage and collect/post payments to patient accounts.
• Collect and prepare specimens for testing and analysis when needed.
• Notify the supervisor of any patient issues in a timely manner.

Labcorp is seeking a Patient Intake Rep to join our team in Columbia City, IN Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm, with rotating Saturdays.

Job Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and greet patients upon appointment arrival
• Ensure a welcoming environment for all patients and visitors
• Assist patients with registration and check in procedures
• Data entry of patient demographics and billing information
• Verification of insurance coverage and collect/post payments to patient accounts
• Collect and prepare specimens for testing and analysis when needed
• Call physician offices to confirm the accuracy of test orders
• Monitor and log patient wait times on a regular basis
• Notify the supervisor of any patient issues in a timely manner
• Promote and provide information about LabCorp patient services
• Manage office supplies to ensure proper inventory levels
• Open and close the office when necessary
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent 1 year or more of customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of patient facing healthcare experience

• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Office
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized colorblindness test
