Job summary

Labcorp in Louisville, KY seeks a Specimen Processor I to support specimen preparation and routing, data entry, and quality control in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 40 lbs, pass a color vision test, and work Monday–Friday evenings with rotating Saturdays. Laboratory environment experience and MS Office skills are beneficial.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • 1 year or more experience in lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse.
  • Comfortable handling biological specimens; ability to lift up to 40 lbs; pass color blindness test; able to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
  • Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.
  • Accurately identify and label specimens.
  • Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities.
  • Meet department activity and production goals.
  • Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
  • Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Resolve and document any problem specimens.

Join us in our mission to improve health and improve lives. Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join our team in 11751 Interchange Drive, Louisville, KY.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 4:00pm - 12:30am, and rotating Saturdays 7:00pm- 11:00pm, overtime required.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
  • Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
  • Accurately identify and label specimens
  • Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year or more experience in lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse

  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Experience with MS Office
  • Able to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
