Job summary

Labcorp is seeking aPatient Services Associate to schedule appointments, greet patients, and manage front-desk operations at our Fort Wayne location. This role involves registration, data entry, and insurance verification to ensure smooth patient flow.

The position requires at least 1 year in customer service and familiarity with medical office procedures. Strong computer skills and attention to detail are essential for success in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of customer service experience (medical office helpful).
  • 1+ year of medical office experience.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule patient appointments and greet patients on arrival.
  • Assist with registration, check-in, and data entry of demographics.
  • Verify insurance coverage and post payments to patient accounts.
  • Collect and prepare specimens for testing as needed.
  • Promote LabCorp patient services and maintain a welcoming environment.
  • Open/close the office and perform general administrative duties.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 9:00am-6:00pm, rotating Saturdays

Work Location: 1818 Carew St, Fort Wayne, IN

Job Responsibilities
  • Schedule patient appointments and greet patients upon appointment arrival
  • Ensure a welcoming environment for all patients and visitors
  • Assist patients with registration and check in procedures
  • Data entry of patient demographics and billing information
  • Verification of insurance coverage and collect/post payments to patient accounts
  • Collect and prepare specimens for testing and analysis when needed
  • Call physician offices to confirm the accuracy of test orders
  • Monitor and log patient wait times on a regular basis
  • Notify the supervisor of any patient issues in a timely manner
  • Promote and provide information about LabCorp patient services
  • Manage office supplies to ensure proper inventory levels
  • Open and close the office when necessary
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 1 year or more of customer service experience
  • 1 year or more medical offices experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years or more of patient facing healthcare experience
Additional Job Standards
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to pass a standardized colorblindness test
Benefits
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
  • Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
  • PST’s may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
