Position Summary
The Patient Food Hospitality Attendant is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service to Orlando Health patients and guests, ensuring a memorable food and dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Display excellent communication and customer service skills with patients, nursing staff, and visitors.
- Deliver proper trays to the correct patients using appropriate customer service techniques.
- Support the nutritional needs of patients as part of the Orlando Health team.
- Arrange trays on delivery carts and log delivery times.
- Log tray locations and ensure timely delivery to patients.
- Collect money for guest trays and record transactions with the diet office.
- Remove soiled trays and maintain cleanliness of work areas.
- Coordinate tray delivery with the expeditor and diet office as needed.
- Assist with tray expediting, checking for accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor patient diet prescriptions, order changes, nourishment requests, and quality standards.
- Accurately take and verify patient menus according to physician diet orders.
- Adhere to patient food allergies, intolerances, and preferences, modifying diets with the Diet Office System's assistance.
- Model essential service behaviors, including effective communication and cooperation with patients, staff, and visitors.
- Interact appropriately with a culturally diverse population.
- Follow chain of command for departmental concerns.
- Maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies and applicable laws.
- Comply with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education/Training
Ability to read and recognize differences between words and numbers. Ability to write simple correspondence and respond to common inquiries or complaints.
