Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services team member to ensure clean, safe, and welcoming spaces for patients, families, visitors, and staff. You will play a vital role in the patient experience by maintaining assigned areas with attention to cleanliness and safety throughout the facility.

Daily duties include cleaning, disinfecting bathrooms, managing supplies, handling waste and linen, and readiness to perform deep-cleaning tasks when required.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Prior customer service experience preferred.
• Able to comprehend verbal and written instructions in English.
• Able to communicate to request supplies and write identifying information.
• Housekeeping and/or maintenance experience preferred.
• Floor care experience preferred.
• Able to relate cooperatively and constructively with clients and co-workers.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains assigned area by gathering supplies, refilling carts, disposing trash and disinfecting bathrooms.
• Removes and disposes of trash and soiled linen; replenishes supplies and linen.
• Disinfects and cleans emergency spills and debris promptly.
• Ensures equipment is in good working order; reports hazards.
• Provides excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Greets patients and families; supports a courteous environment during visits.
• Performs deep cleaning as needed (terminal cleanings using bleach, walls, curtains).
• Responds to alarms and calls within designated time frames.
