Job summary

Hartford HealthCare in Westport, CT is seeking an Environmental Services team member to maintain clean and orderly patient areas within a major Connecticut hospital network. The role requires attention to safety and hygiene standards and supports a high-quality care environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms, restocking supplies, following infection-control procedures, reporting maintenance needs, and following IV handling guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Cleans patient rooms or other assigned areas daily, including collecting and removing trash, changing bed linens and sanitizing surfaces.
• Follows policies and procedures on patient isolation or other special situations.
• Stocks paper items and supplies in assigned areas as necessary.
• Maintains supplies and equipment in clean, working condition.
• Observes and reports repairs needed for equipment, furniture, building or fixtures.
• Follows safe guidelines for receiving, transporting, and stocking IV fluids; ensures safety and expiry checks.
• Understands and follows printed label instructions in English.
• Other duties as assigned.
