Good Samaritan University Hospital is seeking a Patient Flow and Throughput Coordinator to optimize real-time patient movement from admission through discharge. This non-clinical role links physicians, nursing, case management, EVS, transport, radiology, laboratory, surgery, admitting, and other departments to overcome barriers to timely progression.

The ideal candidate has a healthcare operations background, strong Excel/data-management skills, and experience with EHR systems.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in a healthcare related field; Master's preferred.
• Minimum three years of hospital or healthcare operations, or patient throughput experience.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and data-management skills.
• Experience with an electronic health record system (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or comparable) preferred.
• Knowledge of acute-care hospital operations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Mansioni

• Monitor census including expected admissions, discharges, pending discharges, ED boarding, transfers, PACU capacity, EVS, transport volume, ICU/step-down capacity, and operational constraints
• Monitor patients exceeding expected length of stay and support reduction of avoidable/excess days
• Coordinate with bed management, nursing, EVS, transport, and admitting to accelerate safe bed turnover.
• Communicates and works effectively across multiple hospital departments and interdisciplinary teams
• Provide operational decision support, problem-solving and barrier removal, cross-functional communication, conflict resolution and escalation for departments
• Interpret data and manage dashboard
