Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Part-Time Certified Nursing Assistant to coordinate patient placement and bed flow across hospital units. You will work under the Nursing Director of Float Pool, reporting capacity issues and collaborating with environmental services, lab, radiology, pharmacy, case management, and a range of clinical staff to maintain smooth patient flow.

The role requires CNA certification with at least 3 years of acute hospital experience, basic computer skills, and strong English

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years’ CNA experience in an acute hospital setting or relevant experience preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to communicate in English effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Annual competencies demonstrated/completed.
• Age-appropriate competencies.
• Effective interdepartmental collaboration for patient flow.
• Data collection and trending on key metrics.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient placement activity between units and report capacity issues to supervision.
• Use systematic processes to facilitate prompt patient placement and reduce barriers.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary bed capacity briefing processes.
• Conduct rounds to identify discharges and available beds.
• Collaborate with unit supervisors to resolve admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Expedite resolution of patient flow barriers through inter-departmental collaboration.
• Initiate capacity crisis interventions when needed.
• Prepare daily activity summaries and trend flow barriers for reporting.
• Support monthly reporting of metrics to nursing leadership.
