Job summary

Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, GA is seeking a Director of Patient Financial Services to provide strategic and operational leadership for patient financial operations and professional billing across SGHS and Cooperative Healthcare Services.

Qualifications

• Professional certification preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered.

The Position

The Director of Patient Financial Services is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for patient financial operations and professional billing across Southeast Georgia Health System and Cooperative Healthcare Services, Inc.
Reporting to the Vice President of Revenue Cycle, this leader will oversee three direct reports.
Key responsibilities include overseeing patient financial operations, strengthening denial management, addressing CMS and compliance challenges, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and financial performance.
The ideal candidate will be a visible, hands-on, and collaborative leader who can build trust with a highly experienced team while bringing fresh perspectives and new ideas. This individual should be a strong problem solver with sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to navigate complex reimbursement challenges while driving meaningful operational improvement.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of five years of progressive patient financial services, patient accounting, business office, or revenue cycle leadership experience within a healthcare setting, including experience at the Manager or Director level.
Strong knowledge of hospital and professional billing, accounts receivable, collections, reimbursement, denial management, and CMS/regulatory requirements required; professional certification preferred, though equivalent experience and demonstrated competency will be considered.
