Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred Associate degree.
• 1 year of prior health insurance, medical office, or hospital experience.
• BLS certification or provide within 30 days of hire; MAB certification; Complete Certified Patient Access Course within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patients with a positive financial experience by explaining insurance benefits and financial liability.
• Perform daily quality control on accounts and collect monies due.
• Explain patient financial responsibility and rights; coordinate with departments to obtain authorizations.
• Screen for financial assistance programs and assist with completing forms.
• Maintain complete documentation of activities and communications including financial arrangements.
