Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Financial Advocate for the Enrollment team. This onsite role at Aurora Sinai Medical Center focuses on calculating patient financial responsibility and guiding patients through insurance coverage options before services.

You will explain costs, assist with applications for Medicaid and charity programs, and coordinate with the patient to secure funding. The position requires strong communication, HIPAA knowledge, and prior experience in patient access or healthcare

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED/HSED required.
• Typically 2 years of experience in Patient Access, healthcare, insurance, or customer service.
• Ability to communicate clearly and explain insurance concepts to patients.

Responsibilities

• Compute personalized estimates of patients' financial responsibility prior to service.
• Explain deductibles, coinsurance, copayments and out-of-network costs clearly to patients.
• Request upfront payment and establish payment arrangements; explain due dates and installments.
