Job summary

University Health is seeking a Patient Estimate Specialist to prepare accurate estimates for scheduled services and serve as a subject matter resource for the Good Faith Estimate process.

The role requires collaboration with scheduling, Patient Access, Financial Counseling, coding, billing, and other Revenue Cycle teams to ensure patients understand anticipated financial responsibility before services are provided.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in healthcare, business, or Revenue Cycle field or equivalent experience.
• Three years in healthcare Revenue Cycle, medical billing, coding, or related function.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and coding, insurance benefits, and patient responsibility.
• Ability to review services and codes to support accurate patient estimates.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills for patient interactions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate patient estimates for scheduled services.
• Act as resource for Good Faith Estimate (GFE) for uninsured and self-pay patients.
• Coordinate with scheduling, Patient Access, Financial Counseling, and other Revenue Cycle teams.
• Communicate estimated balances and payment options to patients.
