Truman Medical Centers in Kansas City, MO seeks a Patient Estimate Specialist to prepare accurate estimates for scheduled services and to serve as the GFE subject matter expert for uninsured or self-pay patients, as well as insured estimates based on benefits and pricing.

The role collaborates with Scheduling, Patient Access, Financial Counseling, coding, billing, and other Revenue Cycle teams to ensure patients understand anticipated financial responsibility before services are rendered, and to

Competenze

Associate degree or equivalent in healthcare, business, or Revenue Cycle.
3 years in healthcare Revenue Cycle, medical billing, coding, patient estimates, or related function.
Working knowledge of medical terminology, CPT/HCPCS, hospital/professional charges, insurance benefits, and patient financial responsibility.
Strong ability to review procedures and codes to support accurate patient estimates.
Excellent verbal and written communication for explaining financial information to patients.
Customer service mindset and professional demeanor for communicating about financial responsibility.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple estimates, deadlines, and queues.
Attention to detail to identify discrepancies in coding, charges, or patient responsibility.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, EMR systems, estimating tools, and Revenue Cycle systems.
Ability to work independently and with cross-functional Revenue Cycle teams.

Mansioni

Prepare accurate patient estimates for scheduled services across University Health.
Act as subject matter resource for the Good Faith Estimate (GFE) for uninsured or self-pay patients and for insured estimates.
Collaborate with Scheduling, Patient Access, Financial Counseling, coding, billing, and other Revenue Cycle teams to ensure clear information on anticipated financial responsibility.
