Job summary

Geisinger seeks a Patient Financial Counselor to provide in-person or telephone financial counseling for admissions, surgeries, and outpatient services. You will coordinate and complete patient billing and collections, ensuring timely communication with clinical staff and accurate service delivery.

Responsibilities include discussing pricing, eligibility for Medicaid/other sources, and coordinating with Revenue Management teams to resolve balances.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of healthcare experience.
• Ability to explain financial options and insurance benefits to patients.

Responsibilities

• Counsel patients on payment options and negotiate plans.
• Assess Medicaid/government/private coverage eligibility.
