Job summary

Intermountain Health Layton Hospital is seeking a Security Officer to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, employees and volunteers. You will monitor security systems, control access, respond to incidents, and enforce policies.

The role requires de-escalation, safe handling of emergencies, and collaboration with HR and law enforcement. You may perform searches, conduct safety inspections, and participate in drills to prepare for real-life scenarios.

Qualifications

• Current Driver’s License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Security experience preferred in healthcare or public safety.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security technology systems, including cameras, access control, and alarms.
• De-escalate conflicts and use safe, non-physical methods when possible.
• Respond to emergencies and protect patients, visitors, staff, and Intermountain property.
• Enforce hospital policies and coordinate with HR and law enforcement as needed.
• Conduct safety inspections, searches, and security-related drills.
