Job summary

MercyOne Health System is seeking a Clinic Receptionist to greet patients and manage front desk operations at our Mason City clinic. You will schedule appointments, handle calls, verify insurance, and collect copays and deductibles at the point of service.

Responsibilities include validating demographics in the EMR, copying/scanning insurance materials, and maintaining confidentiality while upholding Trinity Health Mission, Vision and Values in daily practice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification within 3 months of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and understand English and communicate effectively.
• Maintain confidentiality with patient information and demonstrate integrity.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors and manage front desk operations.
• Check-in patients and ensure admitting process is efficient and compliant.
• Answer phone calls and route them appropriately.
• Schedule appointments according to guidelines and verify insurance details.
• Collect copays and deductibles at the time of service; enter data into EMR.
