Job summary

University Hospitals Urgent Care is seeking a friendly Patient Service Representative (PSR) to be the first point of contact and ensure a welcoming, efficient patient experience. You will manage front-office operations and support clinic workflow in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma (Medical Administrative Assistant certificate a plus), 1+ year in a medical office, strong communication and multitasking skills, and experience with EMR software

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Administrative Assistant certificate a plus.
• Experience: 1+ year in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
• Skills: Strong communication, attention to detail, multitasking in a busy environment.
• Technical Skills: Experience using EMR software, EPIC preferred.
• Flexibility: Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including some weekends and holidays.
• Team Player: Proactive, friendly, patient-focused service.

Responsibilities

• Warm Welcome: Greet and assist all patients with a positive attitude.
• Patient and Business Documentation: Maintain confidentiality while collecting and organizing documents.
• Insurance Verification: Analyze health insurance benefits and verify eligibility.
• Financial Responsibility: Determine and collect patients’ financial responsibility.
• Collaborative Support: Assist practice manager, providers, and staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and regulatory guidelines.
• Administrative Duties: Perform office procedures and operate medical equipment.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure quality programs and patient result trackers.
• Travel Requirement: Support staffing by traveling to other locations as needed.
