Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support clinic operations and enhance the patient experience. Under the day-to-day direction of the nurse practitioner/physician assistant, you will perform administrative tasks and help maximize patient flow.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, maintaining the clinic, processing registrations and payments, collecting insurance information, and entering data into the EHR.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with common software.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
• Experience in fast-paced customer service environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and manage front area interactions.
• Clean and organize clinic space and exam rooms.
• Answer questions following HIPAA guidelines and consult with provider.
• Utilize scheduling and patient queue systems to manage flow.
• Register patients and log insurance information in the EHR.
• Collect payments and verify patient identity.
• Scan documents and prepare specimens for transport when needed.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and document chief complaints.
• Record vital signs and medical history in the EHR.
• Provide guidance on registration, wait times, and services.
• Answer phones and perform daily patient callbacks as required.
• Assist with off-site events and weekly supply orders.
• Travel to designated clinics if float; assist provider with specimen collection when appropriate.
