Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a supervisor for the Personal Choice Dining service at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI. The role directs patient meal service on care units, coordinates menu selections, tray assembly and delivery, and ensures dietary accuracy while supporting staff training and scheduling.

The successful candidate will oversee daily operations, monitor patient comfort and satisfaction, and ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, HIPAA, and Joint Commission

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Food and Nutrition or related field preferred.
• Two to three years of progressively responsible experience in food services.
• Experience in healthcare food service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees systems and processes to ensure the Personal Choice Dining service achieves its objectives.
• Assists in selection and orientation of staff and oversees training of Personal Choice staff.
• Coordinates with Hospitality Services to accommodate diet restrictions, allergies, and cultural/religious preferences.
• Manages daily meal service activities including menu selections, tray assembly, delivery, and pickup; addresses patient concerns.
• Ensures compliance with safety, sanitation, and HIPAA policies; maintains a clean, safe work environment.
• Develops staff schedules, assigns duties, and mentors team members; conducts performance evaluations.
