Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Catering to You - Patient Dining Associate to assist patients with menu selections and coordinate with the Food and Nutrition Department to provide nutritious, satisfactory meals. You will collaborate with clinical staff to understand nutrition needs and ensure timely service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate and current information for each patient on assigned unit(s).
• Demonstrates knowledge of modified diets, proper condiments and related restrictions for diets based upon passing a written test provided by clinical staff. Reports patients understanding of diet to Dietitian / Diet Technician.
• Assists Dietitian with monitoring of patients who are NPO, on liquid diets or need to have intake recorded.
• Accurately and effectively adapts to Physician-ordered modified patient diets and ensures an efficient timing of services by providing quality patient customer service.
• Assists patients with menu selections and works hand-in-hand with our Food and Nutrition Department with assembling selected meals on trays and with the delivery and pick-up of meal trays.
• Communicates any patient/resident related problems to appropriate personnel, in a timely manner.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
