Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year food preparation experience in high-volume setting preferred.
• 1 year culinary experience preferred.
• Allergen Awareness Certification - VA State - ANSI-approved within 180 Days (Required)
• Food Handlers Card - VA State - ANSI-approved within 30 Days (Required) or Food Protection Manager Certification - VA State (Required)

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items for patients and non-patient services following recipes and instructions.
• Maintain knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and infection control requirements.
• Ensure proper temperatures, storage, and quality at all steps.
• Support team to provide timely and accurate meal service.
• Follow therapeutic menus and allergy guidelines as ordered.
• Prepare special request items as needed.
• Assist on tray line and cafeteria line with proper plating.
• Operate and clean kitchen equipment safely.
