Job summary

The Valley Hospital-Paramus is seeking a Dietary Aide to enter patient diet selections, explain diet basics to patients and families, and deliver trays and nourishments. The role also supports pantry stocking and acts as a liaison with Food & Nutrition while ensuring high levels of customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer skills needed for CBORD Diet Office System.
• One year of hospital food service experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English clearly.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient selections in CBORD Diet Office System.
• Assist patients with meal selections and explain basic diet info.
• Provide tray delivery and nourishments to patients.
• Stock food supplies for nursing unit pantries.
• Act as liaison between patients and the Nutrition Department.
• Handle meal service issues and ensure quality customer service.
