Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's MidState Medical Center in Meriden, CT, is seeking a patient food service associate to handle menu selections, tray assembly, and delivery for patients on assigned units. The role requires attention to dietary restrictions and effective collaboration with Nursing staff.

You will support nutrition care by ensuring accurate diet prescriptions are followed and maintain a clean, sanitary work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for patient food service on assigned units, e.g., menu selections, tray assembly, tray delivery and pick up, special requests and needs, in-between meal food delivery.
• Complies with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal food preferences are met within guidelines of diet order limitations.
• Interacts with Nursing to ensure patients' diet prescriptions are accurate and patients' food needs are met.
• Communicates any patient related problems/concerns to appropriate personnel, in a timely manner following departmental procedures.
• Maintains a clean, sanitary working environment.
