Job summary

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, VA, is hiring a Patient Dining Associate I on a full-time basis with rotating weekends. The position requires availability for a 12-hour shift between 6am and 7pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities include meal service, nutrition coordination with nursing, and supporting dietitians with diet monitoring. Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year of food service experience, and a Food

• 1 year of food service experience may offset education.
• Certification/Licensure Food Handlers Card required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient meal service on assigned units.
• Report patient food issues to Food & Nutrition Services and coordinate with Nursing on nutrition needs.
• Assist dietitian with monitoring NPO and modified diets; record intake.
• Respond quickly to changes to ensure timely service and accurate diet orders.
• Follow dietary restrictions for modified diets to ensure patient care and satisfaction.
• Ensure patient satisfaction on assigned units.

Overview

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, VA, is hiring a Patient Dining Associate I. This is a full time, rotating shift position with rotating weekends.

Hours Monday - Friday: must be available to work a 12‑hour shift between the hours of 6am - 7pm.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for patient meal service food on assigned units.
• Communicates patient food issues/concerns and needs to Food & Nutrition Services, and interacts with Nursing in regards to patient nutrition needs or requirements.
• Assist dietitian with monitoring of patients on NPO, clear liquid and full liquid diets and records food intake for patients on intake analysis.
• React accurately and effectively to all changes to ensure efficient timing of services and accuracy of physician's ordered modified diets.
• Familiar with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction.
• Responsible for patient satisfaction on assigned units.

Education

• High School Grad or Equivalent
• 1 year of food service experience may be considered in lieu of High School Education Certification/Licensure Food Handlers Card (Required at time of hire)

Experience

• Previous customer service experience (Required)
• Previous food service experience (Preferred)

Compensation

We provide market‑competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full‑time employment is $18.02 - $26.54 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on‑call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra‑shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
