We are hiring immediately for part-time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE (DIETARY AIDE) positions.

Location: Ochsner LSU - St Mary - 1 St Mary Place, Shreveport, LA 71105. Note: online applications accepted only.

Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units, helping patients with menu selections, assembling, delivering, and retrieving meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction by delivering accurate meals at the right time and temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist patients in understanding their menu options and coordinate with nursing to meet nutritional needs.
2. Work with caregivers and culinary staff to accommodate food allergies, cultural preferences, and special requests.
3. Manage tray tickets and assemble meals accurately and timely. Retrieve trays from patient rooms as scheduled.
4. Adhere to regulatory standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO, and follow HIPAA policies.
5. Follow HACCP guidelines for food handling and sanitation.
6. Support dietitians in monitoring patients on special diets or with specific calorie needs.
7. Report problems or concerns to appropriate personnel promptly.
8. Complete required reports as per policies.
9. Comply with health and sanitation regulations.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver food carts.
