• We are hiring immediately for full-time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE/DIETARY AIDE positions.
• Location: Ballad Health Holston Valley Medical Center - 130 West Ravine Road, Kingsport, TN 37660. Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full-time; days and hours may vary. Three twelve-hour shifts and one four-hour shift. Rotating weekends and holidays. More details upon interview.

Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates work in healthcare facilities, helping patients with menu selections, assembling, delivering, and collecting meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction by delivering accurate meals at the right time and temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with menu choices and coordinate with nursing to meet nutritional needs.
• Collaborate with caregivers and culinary staff to accommodate food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals accurately and promptly. Retrieve trays from patient rooms at scheduled times.
• Comply with regulatory standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO, and adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA policies.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning stations, and breaking down tray lines.
• Follow infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians in monitoring patients on special diets or with specific calorie requirements.
• Report problems or concerns with patients promptly.
• Complete required reports as per policies.
• Follow health and sanitation regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver food carts.
