• We are hiring immediately for full-time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE DIETARY AIDE positions.
• Location: JMH - 16000 Johnston Memorial Drive, Abingdon, VA 24211 Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full-time schedule. Days and hours may vary. 12-hour shifts. Must be able to work every other weekend. More details upon interview.
• Requirement: Previous food service experience required.
• Pay Rate: $15.25 per hour.

Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, providing services such as helping patients make menu selections, assembling, delivering, and picking up meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, responsible for patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring meals are accurate, timely, and at the correct temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with menu selections and coordinate with nursing to ensure dietary restrictions are met.
• Work with caregivers and culinary staff to accommodate food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, religious preferences, and additional patient inquiries.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to patient selections, retrieving trays at scheduled times.
• Comply with regulatory standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO, and adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA policies.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations, and breaking down tray lines.
• Follow infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians in monitoring patients on special diets or with specific calorie needs.
• Report problems or concerns to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Complete required reports as per Morrison Healthcare policies.
• Adhere to health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver food carts.
