Job summary

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach is seeking a Patient Dining Associate to deliver patient meals on assigned units, working closely with Nursing and the Food & Nutrition Services team to meet nutrition needs and improve patient satisfaction. Responsibilities include assisting dietitians with diet monitoring and recording intake, ensuring timely service and compliance with modified diets.

Experience in dining service is preferred; a sign-on bonus up to $1,500 is available for

Qualifications

• Experience in patient/facility dining or food service preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, Nursing, and Dietitian.
• Understanding of dietary restrictions and modified diets.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient meal service on assigned units.
• Communicate patient food issues to Food & Nutrition Services.
• Assist dietitian with monitoring of patients on NPO, clear liquid and full liquid diets.
• Record food intake for patients on intake analysis.
• Ensure timely service and accurate adherence to physician orders.

Responsible for patient meal service food on assigned units. Communicates patient food issues/concerns and needs to Food & Nutrition Services, and interacts with Nursing in regards to patient nutrition needs or requirements. Assist dietitian with monitoring of patients on NPO, clear liquid and full liquid diets and records food intake for patients on intake analysis. React accurately and effectively to all changes to ensure efficient timing of services and accuracy of physician's ordered modified diets. Familiar with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction. Responsible for patient satisfaction on assigned units.

Experience in Lieu of degree/diploma will be accepted.
