Sentara Health in Woodbridge, VA is seeking a part-time Food Service Associate to support patient meal service on assigned units.

You will communicate patient food concerns to Food & Nutrition Services and collaborate with Nursing to address nutrition needs and dietary restrictions, ensuring timely, accurate meals and high patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Certified Food Service Handler's Card as required by local Health Department.
• Assist dietitian with monitoring patient diets and recording food intake.

Work Shift Rotating Overview

Part time (20 hrs per week) rotating shifts 12 hour shifts. Must have open availability to work: Shifts: 6:30a-6:30p, 6:30a-2:30p or 2:30p-10:00p Overview Responsible for patient meal service food on assigned units. Communicates patient food issues/concerns and needs to Food & Nutrition Services, and interacts with Nursing in regards to patient nutrition needs or requirements.

Education

High school Degree (Required) Certification/Licensure Certified Food Service Handler's Card (as required by local Health Department).

Experience

Assist dietitian with monitoring of patients on NPO, clear liquid and full liquid diets and records food intake for patients on intake analysis. React accurately and effectively to all changes to ensure efficient timing of services and accuracy of physician's ordered modified diets. Familiar with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction. Responsible for patient satisfaction on assigned units.

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $18.02 - $26.54 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
