Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, is hiring immediately for temporary Patient Dining Associate (Dietary Aide) positions at Penn Highlands DuBois, PA 15801. We offer full time and part time schedules, with days and hours varying and rotating weekends.

Online applications are accepted only. Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units, helping patients with menu selections, assembling and delivering meals, and supporting safety and patient satisfaction goals.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, as well as maneuver and push food delivery carts.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements.
• Work with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for allergies and dietary restrictions.
• Assemble meals according to each patient’s selection and retrieve trays from patient rooms on time.
• Comply with federal, state and JCAHO standards; follow HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and cleaning work stations.
• Assist dietitians and monitor patients on special diets as needed.
• Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Complete daily, weekly or monthly reports as required by Morrison Healthcare policies.
• Adhere to health, sanitation regulations and department procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
