HCA Florida JFK Hospital is seeking an FNS Assistant PRN to join our Food Services team. You will prepare foods and beverages for patients, follow recipes and production sheets, and help ensure timely service in a clean, cost-conscious environment.

Responsibilities include portioning, labeling, proper storage, and adhering to all food safety guidelines. This role supports a collaborative team focused on patient care and efficient operation within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Some kitchen experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare various foods and beverages for patients.
• Always prepare and portion foods following established guidelines, recipes, and production sheets.
• Consistently cover, label, and date foods and store them properly according to procedures.
• Follow proper food handling techniques (gloves, handwashing, hair covering, no eating on the job, etc.).
• Always prepare and set up food and supplies in sufficient quantity to cover service requirements. Restock as needed.
• Always check daily menu needs and complete advance preparation for the next day.
• Help to reduce cost by minimizing waste and over production.
• Act in a cost conscious manner by utilizing leftovers appropriately.
• Promptly report food shortages, outdated items or any products received in an unacceptable condition.
