Job description

A Patient Coordinator is trained to act as the first point of contact for our patients, setting the tone for their visit through excellent patient care. This employee will also perform necessary administrative responsibilities to ensure a smooth check-in and check-out experience for patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone). Greet patients promptly with a smile and thank them when they leave.
  2. Answer phones (both external and internal) ensuring prompt, courteous service at all times.
  3. Practice urgency to respect patients' and doctors' time and schedule.
  4. Manage patient flow within the office.
  5. Be knowledgeable of common fees for visits and collect correct payments.
  6. Complete daily reconciliations, close the day, and count the cash drawer.
  7. Perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned by the manager.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Reliable transportation to multiple work locations with minimal notice.
  • Desire to gain industry knowledge and training.
  • Demonstrate initiative in achieving practice goals.
  • Ability to adapt, grow, and accept change.
  • Create a positive, team-oriented, patient-focused work environment.
  • Commit to working over 40 hours as needed to meet business needs.
  • Interact courteously and professionally with all levels of staff.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED; or one year of related experience/training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
