Grene Vision Group is seeking a Patient Coordinator in Augusta, KS. You will be the first point of contact, setting the tone for patient visits and handling essential administrative tasks to ensure smooth check-in/out experiences.

The role requires strong customer service, the ability to manage payments, and accurate daily reconciliations, with full-time hours and potential slight schedule adjustments. A high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience are expected.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and phone etiquette.
  • Ability to manage patient flow and payments.
  • Comfort with daily reconciliations and office duties.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service during patient encounters, in person or by phone.
  • Answer external and internal calls with prompt, courteous service.
  • Manage patient flow and time urgency.
  • Collect payments and understand common visit fees.
  • Close out daily reconciliations and cash drawer.
  • Perform general office duties as assigned by manager.

Hours

  • Our offices are open Monday-Friday 7:30am-6pm, Saturday 8am-12pm
  • Shifts will fall within these hours
  • May have to work a little earlier/later as needed
Summary

A Patient Coordinator is trained to act as the first point of contact for our patients where they set the tone for the patient’s visit through excellent patient care. This employee will also perform the necessary administrative responsibilities needed to create a smooth check‑in/out experience for patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone). Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave.
  • Answer phones (both external and internal); assure prompt, courteous service at all times.
  • Practice urgency with patients’ time, doctor’s time and schedule.
  • Manage patient flow in the office.
  • Knowledge of common fees charged for common visits and collect correct payments.
  • Complete daily reconciliations / close day / countdown cash drawer.
  • General office duties and cleaning as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees in a courteous, professional manner at all times.
  • Desire to gain industry knowledge and training.
  • Demonstrates initiative in accomplishing practice goals.

  • Commitment to work over 40 hours to meet the needs of the business.
  • Reliable transportation that would allow employee to go to multiple work locations with minimal notice.
Education and/Or Experience
  • Minimum required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum required: One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses and Credentials
  • Minimum required: None.
Systems and Technology
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Physical Requirements

This role requires a variety of physical activities to effectively perform essential job functions. The position involves frequent walking (75%), sitting (50%) and standing (50%), with regular bending, stooping, and reaching (25–50%). Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs. Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands are essential, as the role demands constant grasping, writing/typing, and use of technology. Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus—is required 100% of the time. Occasional driving or climbing may also be necessary.
