Job summary

SimonMed Imaging in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a detail-oriented administrative specialist to support patient scheduling, data entry, and insurance coordination in a fast-paced radiology workflow.

Under supervision, you will manage patient demographics, verify coverage, and communicate with referring offices to ensure smooth patient experiences and accurate record-keeping. This role emphasizes accuracy, customer service, and adherence to policies.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma and 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Under direct supervision, performs job-related skills and duties as assigned.
• Proficient in scheduling patient appointments and managing demographic/insurance information.

Responsibilities

• Schedules/re-schedules patient appointments at the appropriate facility.
• Collect and enter patient demographic and insurance information.
• Communicates with referring offices and sales representatives.
• Maintains designated account folders and adheres to departmental guidelines.
• Provides excellent customer service and uses approved guidelines for tasks.

Essential Functions

• Under the direct supervision of the Physician Support Manager
• Demonstrates competency in the performance of job-related skills appropriate to his/her customer populations and departmental services.
• Schedules/re-schedules patient appointments at the appropriate facility and fulfills customer needs to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintains designated account folder following departmental expectations.
• Communicates regularly with assigned referring offices and appropriate sales representatives.
• Ensures patients have been cleared for specific diagnostic tests.
• Collect and enter patient demographic and insurance information as needed.
• Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Basic computer skills required. Has knowledge of insurance plans.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Other duties as assigned by Manager.
• Demonstrates competency in the performance of job-related skills appropriate to his/her customer populations and departmental services while providing excellent customer service.
• Utilizes and operates equipment and mechanical devices which provide for a functional, effective, and safe environment.
• Adheres to policies, procedures, guidelines relative to departmental operations.
