Job Title: Patient Collections Specialist

Location: Colorado - Remote - CANDIDATES MUST RESIDE IN STATE OF COLORADO

Industry: Healthcare / Medical Billing & Collections

Pay: $20 – $25 per hour (based on experience)

About Our Client:

Addison Group is partnering with a growing multi-site healthcare organization to identify a dedicated Patient Collections Specialist. This organization is expanding rapidly and offers the opportunity to contribute to a team that values professionalism, accuracy, and patient care.

Job Description:

This is a full-time remote contract opportunity expected to last at least 6 weeks, with potential for long-term employment depending on client needs. The selected candidate will focus on patient payment collections, billing inquiries, and coordination with insurance and internal departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Make outbound collection calls to patients with outstanding balances
• Answer inbound calls regarding patient billing and payments
• Process payments and update patient records accurately
• Review, prepare, and send patient statements
• Forward insurance denials to the appropriate accounts receivable team
• Adhere to HIPAA and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information
• Collaborate with team members and assist with various administrative tasks as needed
• If local, may be asked to work in-office up to one day per week to manage returned statements (not required for remote candidates)
  
  

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in patient collections or medical billing
• Familiarity with EOBs (Explanation of Benefits)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially when discussing payment with patients
• Prior experience with billing systems such as NextGen, Compulink, NextTech, or AdvancedMD is a plus
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting
• Positive, team-oriented mindset with flexibility to support wherever needed
• Ophthalmology experience is a bonus, but not required
  
  

Additional Details:

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM MST
• Contract length: At least 6 weeks (covering maternity leave), with potential to extend
• Remote work only – candidates must live in CO, AZ, or TX
• Corporate office located in Denver, CO (no in-office requirement for remote workers)
