Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is hiring a Medical Assistant to support patient care in our Stroudsburg location. The role includes preparing patients, updating records, and coordinating with the care team to ensure smooth visits.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of clinical experience or completed a Medical Assistant program, with strong customer service and communication skills. BLS/CPR certification is required or obtained within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• One year of clinical experience OR graduate of Medical Assistant program.
• Two years of experience in similar healthcare setting preferred.
• BLS/CPR: Current or within 60 days of hire; through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Review and update patient medical records prior to appointments.
• Prepare patients for examination and escort to exam room; update meds, allergies, and history.
• Assist in maintaining exam rooms and clinical supplies; take vital signs and immunizations as allowed.
• Coordinate with providers and care team about hospital visits, labs, and specialist appointments.
• Manage waste disposal, vaccine temperature logs, and inventory; perform admin tasks as needed.
