Job summary

CHC Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Insurance Authorization Specialist to join our Pittsburgh, PA office, focusing on verifying insurance coverage for medical supplies and processing precertifications.

You will handle eligibility checks, data entry into patient accounts, and communication of financial responsibilities while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Insurance experience in health care and customer service is preferred.
• Strong typing and computer skills including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility using established methods.
• Enter insurance, patient ID and eligibility details into accounts.
• Obtain physician records to support medical need for the product.
• Prepare and submit precertification/authorization requests.
• Manage open authorizations per established procedures.
• Communicate patient financial responsibilities.
• Update patients and referrals on order progress and delays.
• Document all correspondence in the patient account using the standard note format.
• Upload medical documents to patient accounts.
• Follow CHC Solutions policies and procedures.
