Job summary

Unity Health Care is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our Washington, DC team. Under supervision of the Nurse Manager, the Medical Assistant provides essential patient care and clinical support in a community health center setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program with a diploma.
• Current CMA or RMA certification required.
• Current BLS + AED CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints for patients.
• Prepare patients and EHRs for provider visits.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Perform routine clinical procedures (phlebotomy, injections, immunizations, EKGs) and basic lab work.
• Coordinate referrals and follow-up appointments, and assist with discharge planning.
