Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a food service worker to prepare and serve meals for patients, staff and visitors. The role maintains sanitation of equipment and work areas, operates registers, and assists with providing service to customers in the cafeteria and related areas.

Responsibilities include handling food, stocking supplies, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
• Basic computer and math skills and the ability to count money bags and make change.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes proper food handling, portioning and food storage techniques according to departmental standards/policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintains, assembles and stocks adequate levels of food items, products and supplies.
• Performs register duties required to process customers according to procedures; communicates cafeteria menu, specials, and pricing.
• Disposes of trash according to procedures; cleans and sanitizes containers to ensure sanitation guidelines are met.
• Maintains sanitation and safety standards according to departmental and regulatory agency requirements.
