Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare and serve meals to patients, staff and visitors. You will maintain cleanliness, operate the cash register, and ensure proper food handling and portioning in a busy hospital cafeteria.

You will also stock supplies, process payments, and uphold sanitation and safety standards in accordance with policies and HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Basic computer and math skills, ability to count money and make change.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals per standards; maintain sanitation of equipment and work areas.
• Receive and disburse money for food service; operate registers and related equipment.
• Wash china, silverware, pots and pans for patients, cafeteria customers and guests.
• Utilize proper food handling, portioning and storage per guidelines.
• Stock food items, products and supplies to maintain adequate levels.
• Maintain sanitation and safety to meet department and regulatory requirements.
