Allegheny Health Network is seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to prepare and serve meals for patients, staff, and visitors in a hospital setting. You will manage registers, handle payments, and ensure sanitation across the kitchen and dining areas.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, basic math and computer skills, and prior food service experience is preferred. You will join a collaborative team focused on safe, timely meal service and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Basic computer and math skills and the ability to count money bags and make change.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes proper food handling, portioning and food storage techniques according to departmental standards/policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintains, assembles and stocks adequate levels of food items, products and supplies.
  • Performs register duties required to process customers according to procedures; communicates cafeteria menu, specials, and pricing.
  • Performs dish room/pot room duties as assigned in a timely, organized manner to supply clean supplies as needed.
  • Disposes of trash according to procedures; cleans and sanitizes containers to ensure sanitation guidelines are met.
  • Maintains sanitation and safety standards according to departmental and regulatory agency requirements.
