Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Pineville, NC seeks a patient care technician to join the dialysis health care team. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, you will assist with setup and operation of hemodialysis machines and help maintain a safe, clean treatment area.

Responsibilities include educating patients on adequacy measures, monitoring vital signs and weight, evaluating vascular access, cannulating when delegated, and supporting CQI activities to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Education on adequacy measures and dialysis monitoring.
• Experience with cannulation and heparin administration as delegated.
• Ability to document vital signs and weight.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient education on adequacy measures (OLC, AMP, UKM).
• Welcome patients and check wellbeing since last treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access patency and perform cannulation as allowed.
• Obtain pre/post treatment vitals and weight; monitor during treatment.
• Initiate dialysis per orders (QB, QD) and address intradialytic issues.
