Job summary

MUSC Community Physicians is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant I to support outpatient clinics. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will perform multi-skilled tasks to enhance patient-centered care and assist physicians with examinations and treatments.

Responsibilities include taking patient histories, measuring vitals, preparing exam rooms, and documenting to the electronic medical record. A high school diploma and CMA/CCMA/NHA/NCTC certification are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
• Must be certified through AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT or MedCA as CCMA/CMA/NAHP/NCCT.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification for healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and records health history.
• Measures vital signs and inputs data to medical records.
• Assists in examination and treatment under physician direction.
• Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations.
