Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• CPR and Basic Life Support certification may be required.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology is expected.
• Familiarity with infection control principles is required.
• Basic computer skills are necessary to perform clerical duties.
• Experience or training in IU Health PCA education program may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under the direction of a Clinical Nurse.
• Performs unit clerical duties and supports the patient care team.
• Keeps patient environment clean and orderly and assists with patient flow.
• Schedules tests/procedures and maintains patient records.
• Signs patients in and out of the unit and may assist with equipment and supplies.
• May provide continuous observation including suicide prevention.
