This entry-level, full-time day-shift role promotes organized, efficient care delivery and facilitates communication among physicians, nurses, patients and other departments.

The position supports admissions, records, discharges, and scheduling while maintaining patient records and supplies.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of medical clerical experience, preferably in a hospital or physician office, or prior customer service experience.
• Excellent organizational, human relations, and communication skills.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and Arizona Criminal History Affidavit at time of hire for certain clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support operating efficiency and effective communication.
• Processes patient admissions, records bed assignments, prints patient labels, and orders outside records.
• Maintains a complete patient record with admission, transfer, discharge, progress notes, and required reports.
• Enters pending discharges, coordinates procedures and treatments before discharge, and processes discharges.
• Maintains adequate levels of office, dietary, and medical supplies and reconciles orders.
• Monitors use of electronic equipment such as patient ID scanners and laptops.
• Interacts with unit staff, other departments, and external customers.
