The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, with healthcare experience or medical terminology knowledge preferred and EMR experience (Cerner/Epic) encouraged. Training programs and a strong attention to detail are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Healthcare experience or knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft-based PCs, phones, fax, printers; EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and transcribe orders for clinical colleagues accurately and timely.
• Assemble and maintain all medical records with current information.
• Collaborate with unit charge nurse and manager to identify bed and unit needs.
• Manage phones and patient call lights; relay messages as appropriate.
• Update patient accommodations; enter/manage patient charge information.
